The first book in this series is written by Rick Quinn, an Arizona native, who has driven more than half a million miles from Tierra del Fuego to Alaska. He is an expert on the history, archeology, and culture of the American Southwest. These are scenic detours that being and end at Interstate Highways found in Arizona and New Mexico. Specifically these alternative routes are found along Interstate Highway 10, 17, 25 and 40 and were chosen to offer short detours for those using the Interstate Highways on their way to someplace. Each of the twenty-five routes also makes ideal day trips from the region’s major cities.
